Liz Chesney here -- I think there are two issues at work here: #1) As previously posted, Selma Blair really does look much younger than her actual age; and 2) this is an example of how in Hollywood, actresses "hit the wall" for roles in their early '40's -- noone wants to write roles for women in their late 40's or 50's or even early 60's, presumably because women that age are too terrible to look at and "a real downer" (of course, a completely insulting crock)...but then there are a few roles again after 65 for the few "crockety old biddy" roles that might pop up.

As always, this is increasingly confusing for all of us, and insulting to women of all ages.

How weird. If I were in Molly Shannon's shoes I'd be totally offended. I was, however, surprised to learn how old Blair is the other day. I had thought she was in her late 20s.
